A truly unique opportunity to reunite after 45 years in a stunning historical venue, as guests of our classmate David Pyott, Chair of London Business School’s Governing Body.
If ever there were a reunion celebration not to miss, this is the one ! Thanks to David & Molly Pyott’s incredible generosity, our class is exclusively taking over the city’s most historical monument for an entire, private evening of jewels, history, entertainment and socialising, dinner and drinks. Sign up!
p.s. – if you’re attending the speaker programme on campus you’ll need to leave early to get to the Tower on time !
The evening at the Tower does require us to arrive on time (18.15), as it starts with a guided presentation by a Yeoman of the Guard, leading to the Crown Jewels, then cocktails and dinner. This highly social event is of course informal and all about enjoying meeting up, so dress is “smart casual” with no limits on how glamorous and eye-catching you wish to be ! For organising your attire and luggage, we recommend you carry your (optional) high heels separately as the evening starts outdoors along old cobbled walkways! The drinks reception and dinner require using a staircase (the nature of an ancient monument), so let us know if you have any mobility issues (you may click here for more details).
Key timings for the evening are :
18:15 | Assemble at West Gate |
18:30 - 19:15 | Entry, Yeoman guide, Crown Jewels (n.b. 19.45 very latest arrival time) |
19:15 - 22:15 | Cocktail reception and dinner |
22:30 - late ... | Leave the Tower, gather at CloudM roof-top cocktail bar; click here for details |
Getting there …
The closest London Underground station is Tower Hill (Circle Line and District Line). Allow a 5 to 10-minute walk (350 metres) from the exit of the underground station to the Tower of London’s West Gate. Click here to view the location on the Tower Hill station on the London Underground network.
By taxi, the closest drop-off point is the end of Lower Thames Street (zip code EC3R 6AH to view the location on a SatNav or Google maps); which is right next to the Tower of London’s West Gate, whereas the other areas surrounding the Tower’s ground are pedestrianised. Allow plenty of time if travelling by taxi as road traffic on 14th June might be very dense with several road diversions : this day corresponds to “Trooping the Colour” marking the King’s official birthday. The parade will begin at Horse Guards at 10.30am and finishes by 12.25pm, but central London is likely to remain quite congested for the rest of the afternoon.

The river boat service “Uber by Thames Clipper” operates from 24 piers along the Thames, as per the plan below, and offers a scenic way of getting to the Tower of London, where the docking area is within a very short walking distance from the West Gate. Click here to view the complete timetable on the Thames Clipper website. Tickets can be purchased using the Uber app on your mobile phone, or with a contactless credit card (one card per passenger) in the same way “touch in / touch out” as on the London Underground.

Bus route Nr 15 is the only line that runs along Tower Hill to access the Tower of London; the bus stop is located next to Tower Hill underground station. Other nearby bus routes are shown on the map below.
